Unreal
alison mealey creates beautiful images through computer games. all her work is
created from data captured by playing the computer game 'unreal tournament'.
each image represents about 30 mins of gameplay in which the computers ai plays
against itself, there are 20-25 bots playing each game. the bots play custom maps
I create. each map has been pathed so that the bots have a rough idea of where to
go in order to create the image I want. every image represents 1 full game, and the
position of the dots or lines reflects the position of a player at a given time.
Walton Ford
works by artist walton ford will be on display later this month at the san antonio museum of art. the exhibition,
entitled 'tigers of wrath', will display twenty-six of ford's large-scale water colour paintings. ford's art is characterized
by its resemblance to 19th-century natural-science illustrations. however a closer look reveals strange, often
subversive political imagery.
ford’s meticulous paintings satirize the history of colonialism and the continuing impact of slavery and other forms
of political oppression on today’s social and environmental landscape.
