Its back

So one of the best shows on television is back on. So you think you can dance season 5.
I just had to share the most recent wade robson routine. The dancers are supposed to be crash test dummies, one a brand new one and the other one who has been wrecked and put back together many times. The movement and fluidity is great, as well as the detail considerations like the never use there fingers, they keep there hands like a mannequin would. The performance class in the fall will have nothing to do with the technics of dance but this kind of thing gets me excited about the class

Mouse Shaped Hole

So i took a nice chunk out of my finger with a 3/8th thick plexiglass that spun off of a spindle sander and during healing it started to look like a mouse so I could resist making it a mouse.

Amazing Science

Amanda Kitts lost her left arm in a car accident three years ago, but these days she plays football with her 12-year-old son, and changes diapers and bearhugs children at the three Kiddie Cottage day care centers she owns in Knoxville, Tenn. Ms. Kitts, 40, does this all with a new kind of artificial arm that moves more easily than other devices and that she can control by using only her thoughts.

Check out the video and images HERE

Hina Aoyama (crazy paper cutting)

Hina is member of the Nihon Kirie kyôkai ( association of fine art – cuuting paper Japan) and her work is all done with scissors! Not laser cut, not with a machine, not even and exato knife, but scissors.

Check out video of her working with her scissors and the article HERE

Old school High security

Karakuri tansu is a chest of drawers which has classic tricks and devices. The authentic craftsman restored the traditional techniques, and created the masterpiece by combining a high-security system and Japanese beauty. The unique yet dependable arts to store your valuables safe. The video is a bit long and not in english but well worth the watch. Can fast forwards some parts if need be.

Hot Plates have never been so amazing.

This plate designed by ami drach and dov ganchrow combines ceramic and technology together. using the conductive properties of silk-screened gold and amorphic metal films (in the same manner printed circuit boards or car windshield defrosters work) they created '+/- hot plate'. users simply have to hook up the plate to an electrical source
and the current will run through the 'decoration' keeping food stuff warm.
