Artificial illumination reigns to produce a sublime environment that works diligently to interact with a spectrum of human senses. An exploration of the space will tap into personal theories relating to natural capital and our worldview in relation to climate change – a term that is embedded with infinite meaning and consequence.
A projected tree, with a purpose to retrieve vital information, matures organically in response to a metaphorical fertilizer – insert a leaf and observe immediate evolution, an engrossing possibility for eco-systems of the world in need of nurturing. A temporary bastion for positive change, treasure your Natural Capital.
Thomas Beale is a mixed media artist mostly working in found materials. He has a great website with some really great work, personally I like his smaller works made from shells and his installations. But you can check out his site listed in the artist list to your right or click HERE
You've gotta admire folks who bring their trade to a whole new level, even if that does mean escalating the international arms race between builders of automated, wooden, rubber band miniguns. The 24-barrel, tripod-mountable monster you see above, lovingly known as the Disintegrator, was rather amazingly hand-carved and assembled by Anthony Smith of the UK, who spent four months on the ambitious build. Unlike your dinky little six-shooter, this model boasts a 288-band capacity and 40-round-per-second firing capability, making it one of the most dangerous weapons ever. Check out the video below (its a bit long but its nice to see it in action)
